Seek medical care: With your longstanding irregular periods, a long conversation with your primary care provider is in order. He/ she will give you an exam and possibly order some lab tests. There are prescriptions to help encourage your body to be "regular" as well as to help alleviate the menstrual cramps. You might want to consider having a trusted family member accompany you to the appointment.
