Need ENT: Tinnitus, or the awareness of a sound in the absence of an external stimulus is the result of central auditory excitation and as such can not be "checked" by a gp. You need to know if you have any hearing loss, dizziness, unsteadiness. Although millions of americans are tinnitus sufferers, it rarely can be the early symptom of something serious. Therefore consult and ENT doctor.

Changing Tinnitus: Chaging pitch volume of tinnitus might be due to fluid build up in inner ear. Need audiogram need tinnitus match. Try salt free dies to see if changes. If not, see an ENT specialist.
