A member asked:

Quetiapine 300mg,vitb1+vitb complex from gp. gp swapping propanolol for slow release propanolol at 80mg dly 1wk, then 2x daily next week-am&pm.i have tinnitus which varies but have good days on current medication.will new propanolol worsen tinnitus?

Yes and no: Propranolol and it’s class (beta-blockers) are associated with rare but present tinnitus. If this is YOUR cause, changing the same drug from a sustained release to a shorter duration would not eliminate these effects from your system. Discuss a completely different class of meds with your prescriber to see if the tinnitus improves . Good luck
