Normal: The carotid artery is anatomically located adjacent to the cochlea or inner ear organ. You are aware of this pulsation. Unfortunately, it is most commonly a normal physiological phenomenon. However, rarely, at age 37, it can represent an abnormality. The bottom line is that you are aware of an arterial pulsation of the large artery of the neck. If you are otherwise asymptomatic, don't worry.
