Lupus and TMJ: Many of lupus sufferers have TMJ disorder or the inflammation of the jaw joint. Tmd can be divided into disorders related to the muscles of mastication and those emanating from the tmj. Earache or ear fullness are common symptoms due to the proximate location to tmj. Rec.: see rheumatologist and orofacial pain specialist to rule out ear infection.

Treatment needed: With lupus all infections and fevers need to be looked at and if necessary treated. See your primary M.D. Or rheumatologist. It sounds like an ear infection.
