Melatonin: In children with sleep disorders the usual dose is 3 to 5mg at bedtime. Melatonin is a hormone and it us unknown how it might interact with other hormones in growing children and possibly affect growth and development. Since there is limited research on the subject i would discuss the concerns with his physician to see if this is an appropriate dose for him.
