Several causes: Restless leg syndrome is prob a nerve condition rather than muscle. Frequently, we find blood ferritin level to be low (a relative of iron). Sometimes, taking ferritin can help with the symptoms. If not, there are a few medications that can help, including Mirapex and Requip (generics available). There is also a patch called Neupro (rotigotine) (not generic). Rls is more common in people with neuropathy.
