Is restless legs syndrome a muscle disorder or a problem of the nervous system?

Not sure: I can't tell which but it can be due to low iron levels and it not this it responsed to Dopamine agonists like Requip (ropinirole) or sinemet implying a nervous system problem. Some people do better with anticonvulsant meds like Neurontin or Klonopin which may have some muscle relaxant effects. So it may have multiple causes.

Can be venous: An often overlooked cause of restless legs syndrome (rls) is venous insufficiency. If you have RLS and varicose veins, treating your vein problem might very well make your RLS go away.
