About 15-20 mins.: It depends on what the d/c is for but you can expect to be under for 15-20 minutes and then an additional 10 minutes or so before you are awake in my estimate. Need not be afraid though because your anesthesiologist will explain what anesthesia for the procedure entails and further more, he or she should be able to provide you with 'calming' medications before going into the operating room.
