Sexually transmitted: Hpv, the usual cause of warts is sexually transmitted. A wart per se is not a reason to be worried, however, you do not know if you acquired other sexually transmitted disease by having unprotected sex. Please consult your doctor, get a pap, hpv vaccination and practice safe sex.

Yes: The hpv is a virus and in women it can cause cervical cancer later in life. If you have it , you are also infectious to other people that you have sex with. I would recommend getting the lesion removed and making sure it is the hpv virus. For anyone that you intend to have sexualy relations, there is a vaccine that prevents this infection. It is called Gardasil and can be given to women/ men.
