Luke warm water: Depending on the age of the child, you are better off having the child take a lukewarm bath, rather than a cold cloth on one part of the body.

Forehead: If you place it anywhere, limit it to the forehead.This may give the kid a sense of relief.Putting anything cold on the rest of the body will trigger the skin sensors to develop a chill response and send the fever higher. If using a bath at all (i never recommend it- too messy), the water should never be more than 15 f degrees cooler than the kid.
