Gyn consult : The surgery to remove a fibroid is called a myomectomy not a c-section. You'll need to discuss your case with your gynecologist. There is no right answer for everyone and each case will need to be individualized.

Myomectomy: If you have a 9 centimeter fibroid in a 12 centimeter uterus, removal of the fibroid before you get pregnant is a good idea. If you are already pregnant and have a 9 centimeter fibroid you may run the risk of miscarriage, preterm labor and cesarean section. Usually we discourage removal of the fibroid at the time of cesarean section because of the excessive blood loss at the time of delivery.
