Not really: There is no identified one 'lupus gene'. Of the many genetic tendencies, none of them make you 100% get lupus. Also, there is no evidence of traumatic events causing lupus. Lupus is an immune system issue and sometimes a preceding infection can be seen prior to symptom onset, but not most of the time.
