Ok: Febrile seizures are common between 6 months and 5 years old. They typically occur with a rapid rise in temperature and if a parent has a history of febrile seizures, that increases the risk that his/her children might. Febrile sz usually last less than 5 minutes and do not cause brain damage. Once a child has had them, it is important to be assertive with fever control next time.
