Forward: Failure may compromise blood flow to glomeruli and kidney function. Right sided failure may contribute to venous congestion and edema with some indirect effects to kidneys.

HF and kidney: In advanced heart failure the blood flow to the kidneys decrease and then this will lead to less blood perfusion and kidneys get affected.
