Long half-life: The elimination half-life of xanax (alprazolam) is about 11.2-26.9 hours. It takes almost 6 elimination half-life's for a drug to be cleared from the human body. Well... It could take a maximum of 161.4 hours or 6.7 days (6 x 26.9 hours) for xanax (alprazolam) to be completely eliminated. Rec. See your prescribing physician to express your concerns.

Within an hour .: I am not sure what you are being treated for but xanax (alprazolam) and Suboxone is not a good mix because they are both addictive. If zoloft doesn't work , there are other antidepressants that may work better for your depression and your anxiety. Talk to your psychiatrist before you continue taking your xanax (alprazolam).
