Not thyroid: The thyroid is located in the front lower portion of your neck and doesn't cause neck stiffness as a rule. More common causes would be arthritis, muscle inflammation or a pinched nerve. Try wearing a soft cervical collar as needed and use heat, liniment and take nsaids if you can. See your physician if symptoms persist.

No: No, thyroid problem usually doesn't cause stiff neck. It could be due to osteoarthritis or malposition during sleep. You can take pain meds and muscle relaxant. Cervical collar also helps.
