Was recently in the mental hospital-51/50 (d.t.s.)was there for a week & diagnosed w/major depression. how accurate could this be if i was there 1 wk?

Time: Depression is diagnosed by identifying signs and symptoms of the condition. This information is obtained prospectively (ie from admit day to discharge day) but also retrospectively (ie a patients history of illness prior to admission). Depending on the information gathered the diagnosis can be accurate.
