I've had fusion at l4/5 post 4 years now. newer pain in the area. bone spur/herniation at c6/7. waiting results of tests but why won't md let me work?

Type of work maybe: Maybe your doctor feels like your work is too demanding. As long as you were not having numbness/weakness in the arms/legs then you should be able to do light work until a firm diagnosis is obtained. Sometimes it's better to play it safe though.
