A member asked:

What does it mean to have protien at 9, 870. i know i have 4 kidney diseases, but could i need a transplant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Proteinuria: Proteinuria (p) is an ominous sign in diabetic patients and your p is quite high. You have diabetes and this could be sign of renal damage due to it. See a nephrologist to see what is causing it. The problem is that patients with p have a higher incidence of stroke, kidney failure and heart attacks related to the severity of their p. See a n to find the cause for your p and meds to lower it.
