Can lymph node swelling and pain in lower front part of neck, both sides, come and go throughout day or is there something else going on?

Not really: Lymph node swelling can not go away in one day..So it has to be something else. You should go and show it to your pcp and find out if there is anything visible or palpable in your neck. If it is real he/she will be able to detect it, verify it and treat the problem.
