sudden onset of sneezing, runny nose, sore/scratchy throat, blocked ears, and now yellow mucus when i blow my nose. allergies or something more?

Allergies...: Those are symptoms of allergies. You can try intra nasal steroids like Flonase or nasonex (mometasone). You may also start claritin, zyrtec or allegra.
