Neuropathy: Such a symptom may be due to a neuropathy. A neurologist would be best to evaluate and treat you.

Not likely: Peripheral neuropathy pn is one of the most common causes of isolated burning of hands and feet. There are many causes including vit. Deficiency and diabetes but as often as not we don't know the cause (idiopathic). In general it is not a signal of a life threatening illness but does warrent further evaluation including lab work, nerve studies (emg/ ncs) and a visit to you doctor or neurologist.

No it is not: You need to have a medical check up if these sensations persist or get worse. I hope you do not have diabetes. Are you normal weight or overweight? You should get your fasting blood sugar checked.In order to test for diabetes.
