Not sure: Sweet taste in one's mouth is not a symptom of any disease. Diabetes doesn't present with a sweet taste. If you have other symptoms such as burning, plaques on the mucosa or any other symptoms (cold symptoms or phlegm production), this may be related, but then it warrants to be checked by physician.

Sweet taste: Can be from abscessed tooth/teeth, gum disease, infected tonsils/adenoids, neurologic impairment, lesions along nerve trunks, recent allergic reaction to foods/meds/OTC's, especially if new to your intake, etc. Please seek out a specialist in Oral Medicine. Your local Dental Society may be able to help you locate practitioners with this specialty.
