A member asked:

My daughter is a little over 6 weeks old and has been gaining weight with no medical problems. when can we stop waking her at night to eat?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

I seldom do: If a kid is over 9 pounds, they don't need to be awakened at night to feed. They live off what is in their gut, not the content of their stomach, and each can go 8 hours or more after feeding is well established.
