Depends: You should definitely see a doctor if this lymph node does not go away after a couple of months. Throat cancer is a condition that usually presents with hoarseness, and is diagnosed by taking a look at the inside of your throat with a camera (called laryngoscopy). It is not very common. Lymph nodes swell up when the body is trying to fight off some kind infection. You should also stop smoking.
