Large fiber-beta: When sympathetic blockade stops the release of ne, nociceptor (pain) activation ceases. Management of sympathetically mediated pain may involve a series of sympathetic blocks leading to down- regulation of adrenoreceptors, thereby inducing long-term elimination of sympathetically mediated pain.
