Add fiber.: Adding fiber to a high GI food or recipe, or even to a meal in general, can lower the GI and make it a bit healthier. For example, add psyllium husks when baking muffins or even cupcakes for the kids, or add it to the breading about baked chicken or fish. Adding fiber to a meal is always a good thing.
