Several ways: Hi. 4 ways to test for diabetes: fasting glucose, random glucose (not fasting), A1c, and oral glucose tolerance test; each test has its own diagnostic criteria. Most doctors start with a fasting AM glucose because it's cheap & easy. Do the test. Ignorance of a diagnosis is NOT bliss! Get tested, and if indicated, treated! Good luck!
