May need surgery: At 33 years of age, my concern with large tonsils is a sleep disorder which can be serious. How do you know that your adenoids are hypertrophic (enlarged)? At your age, usually the adenoids are atrophic (very small). See an ENT doctor to determine whether removal of tonsils is appropriate.
