Possibly ...: Swollen tonsiles could be sign of infection or just immune response to various stimuli. Adenosids swells as result of allergic rhinitis, infection etc. Unless it is frequent bacerial tonsilitis or adenoids and tonsils are so large that obstruct the breathing - no reason to remove them. But ringing in ears may be associated with sever econgestion and adenoids enlargment . Consult ENT .
