Only if the ER doc : Determines you need it. We prescribe/order IV antibiotics only in certain situations: severe infections, oral route not available (vomiting, etc), antibiotics needed are not available in another form, etc. If this is a routine order for an antibiotic regimen you are already on, you will not be welcomed with open arms. Call your doctor and ask them to make sure the order has gone through, etc, .
