A member asked:

Can you tell me for prescribing glasses, is the visual axis or the optical center axis more important?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Both are: The correct axis aligns your astigmatic spectacle correction to the correct axis of astigmatic error in your eye. Optical centers align the center of the lens to the center of yor visual axis. If either of these are incorrect you will not be receiving the full correction of the prescription, and could experience blurred vision and eye strain.
