I really want to stop my xanax (alprazolam) addiction what should i do?

Taper off slowly: To stop using xanax (alprazolam) a slow taper could be done in an office setting, usually with a substitute anti anxiety medication like Clonazepam that has a longer onset of action and a longer half life, making it less prone to dependence. To taper off of the medication more quickly it should be done in a hospital setting. Xanax (alprazolam) should not be stopped abruptly due to risk of seizures or death.
