A member asked:

During heart attack does damaged myocardium contracts normally until it scars?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: A heart attack happens when the heart muscle gets so little oxygen (the fuel it needs to stay alive and contract) that it dies. When there is a lack of fuel, at first, the muscle contracts less than normal. When the muscle is dead, it does not contract at all.
