A member asked:

After a bad cataract surgery and loss of iris could a lens still be put in the eye to see?

Yes: With few exceptions, a lens implant can almost always be placed in the eye even after complicated cataract surgery. Lens implantation may occasionally have to be delayed to allow the eye to heal. Loss of iris makes implanting a lens more difficult but not impossible.

Complicated CS: iris: Complications can occur during cataract surgery, though not common. If the iris (part or all) is lost during the procedure, an artificial iris (a segment or full) can be placed at that time or at another time with an intraocular lens.
