Acidosis: Metabolic acidosis (ma) is seen when one's kidneys can’t get rid of acid buildup or when one's body gets rid of too much base. It is a very serious condition and requires hospitalization. More information as to the cause of it, in your uncle's case, should come from either your uncle or his physicians.
