A member asked:

Can gas from a lighter be bad to the eyes if near them for few minutes? i'm really worried because i had a lighter very close to my eyes.

Not an issue: We are exposed to organic chemical fumes in many aspects of our lives. For instance when refueling your automobile. Most lights use butane gas which is highly volatile and quickly disperses. A few use a heavier version such as ronson lighter fluid. These in the atmosphere around a lighter will not harm the eyes; they are much more likely over time to cause lung problems.
