No Reliable Answer: Football: routinely higher stress, higher impact ; more frequent impact activity than baseball or basketball. People with no recognized anatomic variations end up with major injuries playing football, as well as all sports. It is impossible for the most sophisticated orthopedic surgeon (bone carpenter) in the world to answer your question with any certainty. Also keep in mind its your son's choice.
