Please Clarify: Under what scenario would you know you were in contact with herpes? That is so unusual that your question does not make any sense.

Hope you're lucky: I wouldn't worry too much about contacting herpes through your hands. However, your mouth is warm and moist making it the perfect milieu to incubate herpes virus. Washing with soap and water after 15 minutes has passed is no real protection. You may be lucky, but best check in with your dr. Additionally, don't ever expose your self in this way again.
