Sinusitis or not: Not all pain in the nose and sinus areas are really "sinusitis." there are many nerves in the area of the head that can produce burning sensations when irritated. To see if it is a sinus problem a ct scan of the sinuses is essential. If the sinuses look clear on ct scan then other causes of facial pain can be checked out such as neuralgia, dental pain, brain tumors etc.
