Possibly: Chlamydia or gonorrhea can infect the delicate linings of the fallopian tubes and lead to blockage or scarring. A tubal pregnancy or infertility might result. Untreated disease is more likely to cause such a problem but even brief infections with this germ can do it.Some seem to avoid the complication in spite of the infection. If damaged, the tubes could be bypassed during ivf to get pregnant.
