A member asked:

I'm 15 weeks pregnant. thyroid removed in 2013 due to papillary cancer. tsh level is 0.64, but t4 is 22.1 is t4 free important in pregnancy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Total T4 is normally elevated in pregnancy. There is little reason to test total t4, free T4 is a better indicator of thyroid function.
