A member asked:

If i had pid once but got treated in the past and now this year i have chlamydia would that mess with my chances of getting pregnant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It may: Pid is the infection in the upper genital tract (uterus, fallopian tubes...). Chlamydia trachomatis is the predominant sexually transmitted organism associated with pid. Recurrent infections can lead to scarring and adhesions increasing the chance of impaired fertility. The rate of infertility increases with the number of episodes of infection. There is also a higher risk for ectopic pregnancies.
