Lymph node: Infections can definitely cause enlarged lymph nodes which usually go away after a few weeks after infection is resolved. However when a node remains, it's hard and not able to move it around needs formal evaluation. I recommend to be evaluated by an ENT specialist as soon as you can.

Lymphadenitis: Or swollen lymph nodes due to viral or bacterial infection. The swollen lymph nodes caused by cancer is not very common condition. I don't think that your case is any different. Rec.: see your pcp for further investigation.
