6 weeks: The post surgical healing time for most tissues to regain normal integrity and strength is 6 weeks. Prior to this excessive stress to the incisional sights could cause them to open or weaken resulting in a hernia formation. Therefore, it is best not to stress these areas with sexual activity or heavy lifting and exercise for 6 weeks. Normal light activities, walking etc would be fine.
