Lower performance IQ: Nld is not yet a formally accepted diagnosis, but much research exists on it. Broadly, many IQ tests distinguish between verbal (roughly left-brain) and performance (more right-brain) iq. Some people do quite well with the first but much less well with the second. With a big split, they often have other traits, including trouble seeing "the big picture, " that can lead to social troubles.

Visual spatial realm: Non-verbal learning disorder is similar to visual perceptual disability. The problem is dealing with visual/spatial ordering, organization, problem solving, comprehension, sequencing or attention. Being unable to understand things in space and time, but having no problem in language (or verbal) based processing. Certain conditions have this as prime symptom such as turner's syndrome.
