A member asked:

How do you treat border line anemia and does this affect kidneys?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends: Borderline anemia without symptoms, with no other medical problems and are feeling well otherwise it may be due to deficiency in iron , vitamins or both. It is important to determine the cause. Many doctors do not treat mild anemia and encourage a more balanced diet, others will suggest an over the counter supplement depending on the deficiency. Kidneys are usually not affected by mild anemia.
