Seen your Dr?: Reduction in movement of the bowels is not uncommon in ms patients and there are measures that can be taken to help with the problem. You didn't mention whether or not you've brought this issue up to your physician and what has been tried to date? Are you able to do exercise at all because that is a very good conservative form of getting the bowels to start moving again.

Some approaches: Constipation can occur from MS, but often due to a different etiology, and would benefit you to have your primary physician assess. Generally, would increase fibre in your diet, and OTC Miralex and milk of magnesia, (magnesium hydroxide) may be useful. Stool softeners, such as Colace may be also helpful. Note no listing for MS drug, and recommend disease modifying agent.
