A member asked:

Can frontal sinus infection take weeks of antibiotics until it clears up?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: If 2 appropriate antibiotics with steroids do not clear any sinusitis, whether frontal or other sinuses, bacteria are probably not the problem. Lay people only focus on antibiotic treatment and they do not understand that mechanical blockage of the sinuses cause inflammation. Therefore, if several good antibiotics over a course of a month are not successful, you may need a drainage procedure.
